Our Founding Fathers were so divided during the Constitutional Convention that Benjamin Franklin reminded them that they needed to turn to God for help. It was at the critical moment of success or failure. Franklin said, “God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?” Recorded by James Madison, July 1787
We too must now turn to Him for aid. We must acknowledge Him and our dependence on Him if we are to continue to prosper and to have peace. We can and we must remain one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
